JAMIE THOMAS KING – ACTOR
Jamie Thomas King is an English-American actor who has been making his name on stage and screen for the last two decades. Born and raised in London, England, he started acting in productions at Dulwich College and The National Youth Theatre before gaining a scholarship for the three year acting program at The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, graduating in 2002.
Jamie’s big break came in 2005 when he was directed by Sir Nicholas Hytner in the Royal National Theatre’s Production of Alan Bennett’s “The History Boys.” After a sell-out UK tour and run at the Lyttelton Theatre, the show transferred to the West End’s Wyndham’s Theatre. After a few months, Jamie left the production to join the cast of Showtime’s historical drama “The Tudors” to play English poet Sir Thomas Wyatt in the show’s first two seasons. It was this role that launched Jamie’s international film and television career.
In addition to his varied roles in mainstream shows like “Mad Men,” “CSI: Miami,” “Midsomer Murders” and “Call the Midwife,” Jamie has had the privilege of embodying many historical figures. Amongst his memorable performances, he has portrayed the legendary American gunslinger Doc Holliday; Socialite and American icon Conrad Hilton Jr; Gunpowder plotter Thomas Wintour; The King of England George V and celebrated Scottish landscape painter David Roberts in Mike Leigh’s BAFTA and Oscar winning film, “Mr Turner.” Confident either working in film and television, stage or radio, Jamie continues to establish himself in all mediums, bringing authenticity and depth to every character he plays.
